On Special 5/9 through 5/13/13. Priced per pound. "Mussels taste like a blend of oysters and clams, rich and sweet. They have tightly closed shells and the meat is plump and tender. Mussels are great in seafood stews, with pasta or marinated. Don't forget the bread for dipping!! Wild mussels grow abundantly along shorelines and have never been regarded as fine seafood. Cultured mussels are grown in mesh bags and are suspended from ropes in the water. They never even touch the ocean bottom, making them grit free because they do not touch the sand. Cultured mussels taste sweeter, are more tender, are plumper and have a higher meat yield than the wild mussels. Cultured mussels are very tasty & nutritious. They are particularly rich in protein and minerals while being low in fat and cholestrol. Availability: Year round Nutrition Information: Serving Size: 100g/3.5 oz.
